• The 20-tasting walk: truffle, thirty-year balsamic, Cinta Senese, a trapizzino, pasta and gelato over four venues.

• The street-food walk from Piazza di San Simeone: tastings and gelato, with drinks excluded.

Is wine included, and how much?

On most food walks, yes, but "included" means different amounts. The 20-tasting walk pours freely at each venue. The twilight walk pairs wine with its stops and its dinner. The six-stop walk from Tiber Island includes water and a local wine or beer. The Via della Scala pairing names five wines, from prosecco to Barolo.

Two fares need a closer look. The street-food walk from Piazza di San Simeone lists drinks as extra. The 15-tasting walk from Piazza Farnese sells a two-hour street-food option that drops the wine, the pasta and the Ghetto, so book the longer option if the wine matters.

What costs extra on the day?

• Tips. Not in any fare. Several listings say so; tipping is your choice.
• Extra drinks. Anything beyond what the fare names, such as a second bottle or a soft drink on the 15-tasting walk.
• Getting to the start. Only the private driver day includes hotel pickup. A BIT ticket for tram 8 costs €1.50.
• The ride home. No walk includes one. A taxi can reach most of the quarter, because taxis are exempt from its limited-traffic zone.
• Entry tickets you add. Villa Farnesina is €12 if your walk does not include it; the Jewish Museum is €12.

What does going private add?

Do children pay less?
